The Year 2 students had an amazing day last Thursday! We had our Mini Olympic fun competition, with an opening ceremony to start with and a medal ceremony after the games. The children were in mixed teams so they made new friends and they represented 10 different countries. We had such a good time and everyone did their very best to help their team to win points. Well done everyone! That was so much fun and who knows; some of the children may end up in real Olympic teams in years to come! Thank you very much to the kind parent who put the video together for us.

Term 2 got off to a busy start, with Marae preparation. We had a fabulous trip to the Tangatarua Marae, in the Waiariki Polytech compound, and thank you very much to the parent helpers who were able to come. We had Matariki activities as well. Matariki is the Maori New Year, which is coming up soon. Here are some photos from our trip.

Swimming was so much fun!The children had 2 big sessions at the Aquatic Centre and the focus was survival skills. It was great to see the children doing all the activities with confidence, especially things that they hadn't done before.
Thank you so much to the parents who came and helped- you can see that it is so important to have parents in the water to support the instructors. Here are some photos of the action!

Welcome to the 2016 Room 3 blog!
The first few weeks have gone really quickly and we are really starting to get into our routines.
Going to music in the Arts Centre with Mrs Lyons is very good fun! Here are some pictures of the children playing instruments.
